Burn Ban in Effect
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Town of Burlington Fire Department is issuing a burn ban for the Town of Burlington effective immediately until further notice.
This decision has been made due to current fire conditions identified by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), including dry weather, low humidity, and gusty winds, which significantly increase the risk of wildfires. These conditions allow fires to start easily and spread rapidly, especially with the presence of dry vegetation and debris.
Effective Immediately:
All open burning is prohibited, including but not limited to:
- Brush piles
- Yard waste burning
- Fire pits / bonfires
- Agricultural burns
Allowed With Extreme Caution:
- Gas and propane grills
- Pellet grills / smokers
- Charcoal grills (must be attended at all times)
With current dry conditions and changing winds, any fire has the potential to spread quickly and endanger life and property.
Residents are encouraged to stay informed on current fire danger and restrictions by visiting the Wisconsin DNR website.
You may also visit the Town of Burlington website for all local burning ordinances.
The Town of Burlington Fire Department appreciates your cooperation in helping keep our community safe.
